After one month of inactivity, I’m resurfacing with a post of referenced ideas. As one should.
A gap formed within the blogosphere during my absence, and you surely felt it. The lack of pizzaz & empty egotistical talk. I apologize for my impromptu leaveβyou missed me, no doubtβbut life . . . You know the gist. Yada-yada-busy. Let’s get on with it.
If you blog, you write. Cue the duh. That’s perfect because I encountered a gold mine of Pinterest writer memes while I was gone, and despite my initial gaslight, girl boss, gatekeep methods, I decided sharing is caring. (Note: I’m not sharing a link to my account or board overflowing with pins. I haven’t gotten over the gatekeeping just yet.)
For those of you who don’t have a Pinterest account, I’m pasting the screenshots of the memes. It’s extra work (since apparently, WordPress can’t embed Pinterest links?! Pish posh, I tell you), so be grateful.
You’re tired of my yabbering. Let’s get on with it!
1. (first, a serious one)
2. Procrastinating? I prefer “dilly-dallying.”
3. “This is fine.”
4. Eyes to yourself, please.
5. You never quite know, you know?
6. I’ll need a second to make it coherent.
7. Hit the breaks on the stakes!
8. O plot twist, plot twist, wherefore art thou, plot twist?
9. See, Belle gets it.
10. A magician never revealsβIT’S ALL A LIE.
11. Burn it to the ground.
12. A befuddling mush of vibes.
13. A liiittle stir-crazy.
14. “Where was I going with this?”
16. Dandy. Simply dandy.
17. Cue visible signs of pain.
18. Plans are overrated, anyway. *eye twitch*
19. For β¨Character Developmentβ¨
20. W Em Dashes
And That’s a Wrap!
Hopefully, you found some of these funny, or else my humor is broken. I might be the only one who enjoys taking a break from writing for a laugh, but these were made by people I’ve never met, so there’s still a possibility you can relate. Let me know!
Toodles, humans.
Okay… that last one is so real. What can I say–I have a tendency of using way too many em dashes.
It’s a problem.

I saw what you did there. π Plus, I very much agreeβem dashes have me on chokehold. They’re just so darn convenient and insertableβglad to know you relate!

I found quite a few of these to be correct for me. Although with the last one I am none of the sections…I tend to over use comas but mainly leave out the rest ( except for periods and question marks)
Cool post, I liked it!

Right? Who knew holed up writers actually had senses of humor? See, a pinch of insanity isn’t all bad. I kid, I kid. True, commas are the standard, and rightfully so. Great to know you enjoyed it!

As I scrolled leisurely downward, I kept planning on saying, “This one’s my favorite”, but then I’d see another. At this point I think they all have to be my favorite, though Number 17 is speaking to me on a spiritual level. Also, how dare you call me out on my excessive em dash usage. While editing my latest book I made the unfortunate discovery that I have 298 of them in only 98 pages.

It’s a fine collection, isn’t it? Brain rot and excessive scrolling has its perks. Number 17 is just dramatic enough to be wholly true, and I’m bitter about it calling me out in broad, er, screenlight. My favorite is Number 3, but I think 17 earned second, begrudgingly so. My handy-dandy calculator tells me that 298 em dashes in 98 pages is roughly 3 per page, and I must sayβthat’s commitment.

Oh, dear, 3 is a good one, isn’t it? I have to relate to it more than I care to, since that’s what it’s going to look like when I go back to the sequel of Reciprocity. I stopped working on it to edit that 298-em-dash novel and now I’m afraid to even open the Google Doc for it again. As for those 298 em dashes, there are 4 of them on the first page alone. That’s more addiction than commitment, I’m afraid.

Although we both have been MIA, still lemme just say, I missed youuuππ§‘
And this post, I read it while eating lunch and I was going, “IKR!? SAME!” with every meme.
The dashes one was so real omg.
Okay, but the Belle one hit HaRd!π«
Lovee this post xo
P.S. TYSM for putting this together. I know how hard it is to save every image and then attach it, filling up the wp media space as well π₯²

James Bond and writing woes are a combination I never knew I needed. π (Sure, that quote isn’t from that franchise, but no one needs to know. π)

I’m not writer, yes, but being a blogger I can (kind-off) relate to some of these. I once wrote a story and the first thing I did later was to rewrite the first few pagesπ

Good enough for me! Man, for a non-writer, that’s a very writer-coded thing to do. Perchance keep your ears screwed on if ever fiction writing calls to you. π
