A Noble Princess Cover Reveal!!

Hello, humans! I bring wonderful news. It could’ve been a surprise without the title, but guess what’s coming this November?

Sure, Thanksgiving, too, but you have one more thing to be grateful for, which is. . .drumroll, please ๐Ÿฅ. . .Saraina Whiteney’s The Goose Girl fairytale retelling! This story will be a part of the SUMMER novellas for the Cornerstone Series, which include Books 5 – 8. Aside from Miss Saraina Whitney, you’ll see the works of authors Rachel Kovaciny, Abigail Kay Harris, and Madisyn Carlin.

And what do I have to do with this? Again, my uncreative title gives that away, but to clarify, I’m aiding in the cover unveiling of the wonderful Saraina’s novella. Without further ado, behold the details!

About the Author

A devoted Christian storyspinner, Saraina Whitneyโ€™s one weakness is poignant stories threaded with hope. That and the color olive green. Her passion is sharing stories of hope finding broken hearts, pointing back to the Greatest Love Story of all. Known as the quietest of her family of fourteen (…except when sheโ€™s singing), sheโ€™s a homeschool grad and lives in the windy Illinois countryside, blessed with a magical view of sunsets and stars. When not volleying around obscure inside jokes with siblings, she spends her free moments authoring, falling down research rabbit holes, reveling in the musical perfection of her favorite songs, and daydreaming about a wardrobe that could transport her to her charactersโ€™ worlds.

*clicks Want to Read on Goodreads*

I’m surprised I didn’t do that sooner. If you’ve been here a while, you know I worked on a fairytale-ish retelling of my own, so I can understand a teeny fraction of the diligence you’d need. I have much respect for the author. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Stay on your toes for the upcoming blurb, and let me know what you think! I’ll catch you on the flip side. *salutes and does an Aladdin off the balcony*

*magic carpet whisks me away*

HOLY GUACAMOLE. 50 FOLLOWERS? HUH?! + Announcement

Really just me rambling. If you’re reading this, know that I AM GRATEFUL TO YOU. Thank you SO MUCH. You’re a gem. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Check with me. (Or don’t if you think this is a ploy to get more views. If that’s what you’re thinking, you’re pretty pessimistic. I call it reader interaction. But your choice.)

Go to my homepage. Scroll down. No, no, no! Not to the bottom. That’s too much! Two scrolls of your mouse (or one flick of your finger if you’re reading from a phone) is just about enough. Do you see the small button? The one that says…

What?!

How-

How is that even possible?

Wait, let me inspect it again…

WHAT?!

Okay, inhale. Exhale.

My next question: Why?

Are this [censor]-year-old’s ramblings somehow comprehensible? And why would you be so kind-hearted as to embark on this journey with me?

Am I really that charismatic? (alt text: rizzful, girl vers.)

With a year of blogging on my back, I have (somewhat) sufficient experience to make this claim: There are a bunch of inaccurate blogging stereotypes out there.

Take it from me. If you search Google with, say, “how to start a blog” (which, by the way, is what got me going, so no hate to the results) and see a featured image of two people being productive and a title similar to “10 Things You Should Know Before Starting a Blog,” don’t get caught up with following that number by number.

I’m sure somewhere in the abyss of the internet, there’s a statement that advises against asking too many questions in one post or being self-deprecative. Kinda like, “Why are you guys following me?!” And you probably can tell that not everyone follows those.

As something I used to view as complex, blogging has become something akin to a hobby. If, of course, you consider stressing about posting twice a week a hobby.

(I’m kidding.)

I never would’ve guessed my writing could improve like this. Heck, I like writing blog posts better than stories. But have you seen my stories? *shudders* Not even a month later, and my flash fiction’s already making me cringe.

Wait…what was I saying?

Oh, yeah. Thank you all so much for 53 followers! The support is a marvelous encouragement and my fuel for pressing on. Juggling school, this, extracurriculars, and life in general isn’t easy, but God provides us with strength. And, as always, all praise and glory to Him alone!

(Huh, when’d I start talking about blogging advice? That’s weird.)

And Lastly…

I have a new blog opening on September 9th titled A Christian Kid’s RANT Page, whose idea I got from a classmate. If you’re interested, submit a confession/rant through this form. Worry not; aside from your pseudonym, I won’t know who you are. Mysterious, right?

Once the blog opens, I’ll post one confession every Saturday. Honestly, I don’t expect the blog to amass a following or anything close to it. I’ll probably run it for a month or two and see what happens. Perhaps it’ll just be something that exists. But I don’t want to underestimate what a confession page can do, so who knows?

…I’m double-guessing myself. Is this a good idea? I’m not sure anymore.

Anyway.

Thanks for Reading (And Following)!

You guys are amazing. Toodles!

Until next time.

Halt!

Aliens, weโ€™re at it again. Breanna burns out and needs to disappear for schoolโ€™s sake. Letโ€™s be honest this timeโ€”I will be reading posts and commenting, most likely, but the content creating will halt.

Lifeโ€™s been throwing dirty jabs at me. I need to re-evaluate my moves and see what I did wrong.

I feel terrible leaving like this, but I donโ€™t see what else there is to do. Iโ€™ve filled my plate, and, though I plan to chew and down as much as I can, some things have to be shelved. Not forgotten. Just put on hold.

I need to stop making bad decisions. Pray for me, will you? A 10-word or 10-second prayer ought to do it. I know Iโ€™m practically a stranger, but I would really appreciate it. Iโ€™m swinging on my last string of hope here.

Iโ€™ve left some things pending, so apologies for that. Iโ€™ll be back, ermโ€ฆfresherโ€”the freshness I expected last hiatus. Sorry if this jumble of a post evokes your sympathy. I didnโ€™t mean that.

Well, until next time, then.

See you by May 15! May 18 is the one-year blogging anniversary, so Iโ€™ll be here for that.

I don’t like unannounced hiatuses.

Read that again. Yup, that’s the truth. Unannounced hiatuses annoy me.

(If you’ve ever taken a blogging break without informing your readers, no hate. :D)

Therefore, I’d be a hypocrite if I disappeared temporarily without informing the kind souls who take a few minutes to see my scramble of words and attempt to make sense of it. To those faithful few, I am disappearing temporarily.

This isn’t some “Oh, I didn’t see that coming” problem. It’s more of “Darn it, I knew I’d face this but was hoping it wouldn’t happen anyway.” So, sugarcoating-less, I made a not-so-intelligent mistake.

I’d hate it if my writing this post while the crisis ensues would go to waste, so I’ll give you specifics. Today, March 22, I will bid farewell till the time I return, April 22. My schedule will transition from 2-3 times a week to 1-2 times a week, and for that, I apologize. I just have things to do and squeezing blogging in the time in between would be unwise, to quoth the clichรฉd blogging apology.

Putting on my Asian mom cap, I will turn this into a life lesson. Priorities are priorities; placing an unimportant thing before an important one will cause chaos. For the now, blogging is somewhere on my list as number 8…out of 10. Sacrifices, as my mother says, must be made to see change. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is…not very smart.

That doesn’t serve as an excuse for my choice to ignore the issue at hand. I really do regret this as I know the engagement on my blog will not be half as good when I return a month later, but oh well. Potato, potahtoh.

If you do decide to return then, Iโ€™ll give a cyber hug. Iโ€™ll be replying to messages within the following 24-hours, but after that is the vanishing. (I really am sorry.)

Farewell, until next time.

Contactโ€™s still opening for that one person wondering.
